NRG Dance Convention and Competition

This is one of our very favorite dance related event of the year(next to Nationals in Las Vegas)!! This year was super special because not only was our whole immediate family able to come but Nana and Nonno and Grandma and Grandpa were also able to come!! This was Sophia's first time performing her new solo so she was SUUUUUPER nervous and excited of course to hit the stage with it.  Not only did she win first overall in the Jazz category above all other jazz dancers, but she won FIRST PLACE OVER ALL CATEGORIES! This means that her jazz solo received the highest score across all genres of solos.  This is HUGE especially considering it was her very first time performing it.  She won $100 on top of her award.  On top of this award, she earned a scholarship based on her "performance" in the convention portion of the weekend which is essentially intensive dance classes in every genre of dance.  They pick 1 dancer to give a scholarship to in the 8 and under category and they chose her! We are so so proud and so fun that all the Grandparent's were present to see the fruits of her labor.  Seriously the hardest working and most dedicated 8 year old of the face of the planet.  She continues to amaze us each day!
